Adventure and ESP Create Unique Setting for Visionary Award-winning Novel, Mystic Warrior
Spinas provocative novel draws upon his own personal experiences and combines politics, venture capital and mysticism in an insightful and totally unconventional way. Heres an excerpt:
As Thorn sped west on Palmetto Park Road, he was grateful traffic was light that evening, allowing him to gain quickly on them.
Up ahead of him, a set of railroad warning lights began flashing. He could see Sophies car, followed not too far behind by the black truck. As she made it across the tracks, he prayed the approaching train would stop Raven; but he sped up just in time to get underneath the gates. Thorn pulled up to the tracks a few seconds later and was forced to sit there helplessly, as the long freight train rumbled by.
He banged the steering wheel with his fist, feeling trapped and as though hed failed to protect his newfound teacher. "Im the reason shes in trouble! She was helping me and now shes in danger! Damn!" he thought to himself. He closed his eyes and pictured her face, innocent of the danger. He prayed out loud, Please, God let me warn her. Please let her be safe."
What is it?"
Thorn opened his eyes to find the source of the voice. It was Sophie, but he couldnt see her.
Where are you?" Thorn thought.
Im in my car. You saw me leave."
It was her voice, he was sure of it-but how? You can hear me?" he silently asked.
Youre coming in clearly."
This is really happening?"
What do you think?"
Waves of elation washed over him. This is unbelievable." In a flash, Thorn remembered why he needed to contact her. Raven is after you!"

Buckle Up Your Pooch With The Canine Auto Safety Harness From SeniorPetProducts.com
Marina Del Rey, CA (PRWEB) February 15, 2006 -– Taking the dog for a ride in the car? Better think twice about your four-legged passenger. According to a recent American Automobile Association study, pets and loose objects are rated as the third worst driver distraction, next to cell phone usage and unruly children.
The reality behind these statistics is not pretty for drivers or pets:
- A pet is propelled with force equal to 30 times its weight in a 30 mile-per-hour accident.
- A 30-pound dog can be sent flying with the equivalency of 900 pounds of force behind it - energy enough to kill it, and anything in its path. At faster speeds, the force is even greater.
Field Technologies GPS Fleet Tracking Teams With Garmin Navigation
Field Technologies, an innovator in GPS tracking and logistics systems, announced today they have adopted Garmin International's fleet management interface (FMI) into their product portfolio.

The new product released last week, named FieldLogix +NAV, presents a unique opportunity for fleet owners to further optimize their business and provide better service for their customers. Users will be able to send messages and routing information directly to drivers in the field, which will result in better response times and less travel time.

"Garmin navigation devices are designed to be intuitive and will give Field Technologies' customers the tools they need to navigate to their destination efficiently."
Small Business CRM Users Stick to the Basics
With CRM software packages springing up all over the place, the CRM marketplace is getting more complex. LogicBright CRM, a leading creator of small business software, sought to find out exactly what small business CRM buyers are looking for. The results are eye-opening and, at the same time, in line with the long-term strategy for LogicBright CRM.
Over 81% of users surveyed by LogicBright want to use their CRM as a straightforward contact manager. These users likely need a place to put their data so all their employees have access to it. They don't need specialty applications such as mobile phone support or an offline version. To put it simply: they need a basic contact manager that they and their peers can access simultaneously to share company and contact information.

IT trainers See Accreditation 'Kite-mark' as Huge Success
The launch of an accreditation programme to help those looking for quality computer training has been hailed as a great success in its first two years of existence, according to one of the country's leading IT training providers, Computeach.
The accreditation from the Institute of IT Training (IITT) was initiated in 2007 with the sole purpose of providing clearer guidelines as to the quality of training offered by IT training suppliers. The programme had been the direct result of industry pressure to make it easier for people looking for IT training to select providers 'of repute'. Computeach, one of the country's largest IT training providers and a founder member of the organisation, hailed the scheme as giving the public clear guidance when searching for quality IT training.
JetSpeed Records Major Showcase at Key Club
An industry showcase is always a hit or miss event. You know the story, invite 200 people and be eternally grateful if 50 of them show up. Usually the ones who do show up are friends of other people, just there for a free show. So, on this Wednesday night in an extremely congested Hollywood, I was skeptical. But hey, I am one of the reliable ones, so off I went.
First I have to say that the turn out was magnificent, someone knew what they were doing for this show. I personally saw and/or spoke to representatives from Virgin, Sony, WEA, as well as 4 or 5 smaller indies. Also writers from Music Connection, LIVE, and All Access (duh!) There were agents from CAA, a handful of attorneys, top-notch producers. I was
impressed.

1 Doctor, 100 Days, 1,000 Personal Health Records
Whole Health Management (WHM), a leading operator of on-site health clinics and wellness centers, has enrolled the first 1,000 patients in its iHealth personal health record (PHR) and online communication service from its one-physician clinic in San Diego, Calif. The 1,000 PHR milestone in 100 days by a single physician is particularly historic when contrasted to the less than one percent uptake of online PHR services offered by most health plans.
Whole Health is providing employees in its San Diego clinic and elsewhere with a secure online service including patient to clinic email and an easy-to-use PHR that is accessible at all times and locations, across the continuum of care, including emergencies. The service, iHealth, provides employees with online and interactive patient education and wellness programs integrated into the PHR. Also integrated into the iHealth PHR is a proprietary, interactive and actionable Health Risk Assessment (HRA) and secure clinic-employee email. This allows patients to access their own records and provide them in any healthcare location where they seek care, including emergency departments. The service also allows employees to exchange secure email with Whole Health clinics 24 hours a day from home or while traveling. To promote a more comprehensive picture of patient health, Whole Health is working with key community physicians and hospitals to encourage them to recognize, offer and update the iHealth PHR for employees cared for by Whole Health.
