SubCon Prepares SubTalk Release on Eastern Conference
SubCon (also known as Sub-Conscious) is both a connoisseur and creator of pure music. His adept lyrical ability and remarkably solid delivery bring weight to his songs, while the fluidity of his cadence gives way to a diverse array of impressive rhyme schemes. Think that’s a mouthful? It’s all breezy to this New York native, and SubCon has teamed with Eastern Conference to give Hip Hop fans a refreshing perspective with his new album SubTalk.
After releasing various independent projects in the late ‘90s with the group Sight Beyond Light, SubCon set out to pursue a solo career in 2001. He released several singles and special projects, including work with Bobbito Garcia’s Fruitmeat Records. In early 2005, SubCon released The Holdoverz to prepare fans for the new full length album SubTalk.
Michele and the Midnight Blues Release Their Highly Anticipated Live CD
The fans said they wanted the recording and that is exactly why Michele and the Midnight Blues have finally released their live “A Night of Storytelling” CD. Live on two tracks this musical offering was meant to entertain the crowd with the stories behind the band's original songs and the songs themselves.
Recorded at their very first storytelling show at the Soap Box Lounge in Wilmington, North Carolina, you can hear the audience laughter peppered throughout, even though there were no microphones near them. It is an honest look behind the scene of why artists write the words they do. What inspired Michele and her band, and what notes she gave the musicians before they did the final touches on each tune performed that night. Even the sad stories somehow bring laughter, giving credence to the bands motto, that ‘Blues is more than cry in your beer music.’

Not one, but two students at Pima Medical Institute, 370 Printers Parkway in Colorado Springs received national honors from the American Medical Technologists. Ronnie Lynn Lewis won the Outstanding Student Award in the Dental Assistant category and Philip Young received the Outstanding Student Award in the Medical Assistant category.
The Outstanding Student Award recognizes students enrolled in Allied Health Programs whose achievements are judged to be outstanding. Students are selected from Allied Health Professional accredited career colleges throughout the U.S. Both Lewis and Young will receive $250, a plaque and a free full package registration to the AMT Educational Program and National meeting July 11-16 in Kansas City, Missouri.
We were just ecstatic when we heard two of our students won top honors in this national competition," said Karen McGrath, campus director for the Colorado Springs career college. Our campus is smaller than a lot of the career colleges in the Allied Health system, but the bottom line is our students really excel. Ronnie and Philip are proof of that. The students, staff and faculty are extremely proud of both of them."
The competition honors students in seven categories, Dental Assistant, Medical Administrative Assistant, Medical Laboratory Assistant, Medical Assistant, Medical Laboratory Technician, Office Laboratory Technician and Phlebotomy Technician. The Colorado Springs campus has programs for Dental Assistant, Medical Administrative Assistant, Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician and Veterinary Assistant.

Porta-King has Solutions for Congested Ports
According to the American Association of Port Authorities, over the next 15 years the amount of cargo handled by U.S. ports will double to 4 billion tons per year, partly due to outsourcing. This challenges the maritime industry because ports are already understaffed and receive less than 10% funding from the Transportation Security Administrations annual budget, despite the threat of maritime terrorism. As more employees and security equipment are needed, more buildings are required.
Although prefabricated buildings have been used at ports for a long time, their purposes keep expanding as they accommodate new security measures and technological equipment.
